About usThe East Yorkshire and Derwent Area of the Ramblers’ Association has over two thousand members. In addition, many local walking clubs are affiliated to our organisation. This gives us an influential voice when representing the interests of walkers and lovers of the countryside in this part of the world. The area is sub-divided into a number of local groups. Area RA members are normally allocated to their nearest group by postcode unless they request otherwise. All RA members in the area are welcome to join in with the activities of any group. Members of the public are also invited to take part as guests in our activities before deciding whether to join the RA. Our Groups
There is also a group specifically for younger RA members in their 20’s and 30’s which covers the whole Area. This is known as “Get Your Boots On” or GYBO for short. As well as helping to produce our area programme of guided walks, groups also arrange social events, footpath working parties and other activities. Click on the map or select a group name on the left to find out more about each group.
