Sat Feb 5th Copmanthorpe

c8 miles circular walk via Askham Bryan, Askham Richard, Bilbrough & Colton.
Ldr: Malcolm Dixon. Meet at 10:45 by Copmanthorpe Village Green (SE 565468) Catch the 10:15 no13 Firstbus from opposite York Rail Stn. The walk is around flattish rural countryside following field paths & with some road walking. There will be 15 stiles to negotiate. OS map 290.

Sun Feb 13th Strensall

5 miles.
Ldr: Brian Corley. A Sunday afternoon stroll around Strensall and environs. Catch the 12:40 no 5 FirstBus from Station Road to Strensall for a 13:30 start.

Sat Feb 19th Market Weighton

12 mile circular walk following the Wolds Way.
Ldr: Jean Beaton. Catch the 10:00 X46 EYMS Bus from York Rail Station for a 10:55 start from the Griffin Pub (SE 876418) (Village CP close by). OS Map 294 .

Sat Feb 26th Ripley Circular

9.5 mile circular walk.
Ldr: Doug Melbourne. Leave York on the 09:10 Northern train to Harrogate. From Harrogate we shall catch the No36 bus to Ripley (SE284604), arriving at 10:05 Return via 16:05 from Harrogate to arrive in York 16:45. OS Map: 298.

Sat Mar 12th Garforth Circular

11 mile circular walk via Parlington, Aberford, Lotherton Hall and Micklefield.
Ldr: Doreen Felton. Catch the 08:58 TPE Man Airport service as far as Garforth Station (SE 408335) for a 09:15 start. OS Map 289.

Sat Mar 19th Warter Circular

A joint 8 mile walk with our friends from the Howden & Goole Group.
Ldr: Don Stuart. Catch the 09.17 744 EYMS bus from York War Memorial to Warter CP (SE869503) for a 10:15 start. OS Map: 294.

Sat Apr 9th Scarborough Circular

c10 mile walk.
Ldr: Malcolm Dixon. Catch the 08:38 TPE service to Scarborough Stn (TA039883) to catch the 09:35 S&D no 15 bus up to Cloughton. Walk down to the old coastal railway line for a coffee stop. Then onwards to Hayburn Wyke and back to Scarborough via the Cleveland Way. OS Map: 301.

Sat Apr 30th Malton to Slingsby

9 mile linear walk.
Ldr: Doug Melbourne. Catch the 08:38 TPE Scarborough service to Malton (SE:787714) for a 09:05 start. Return via Stephenson bus from Slingsby to catch the 15:10 train back from Malton due in at York at 15:37. OS Map: 300.

Sat May 7th Holmfirth Circular

c11 mile circular walk.
Ldr: Doreen Felton. Startat 10:15 Catch the 08:26 TPE Airport Train as far as Huddersfield. Then via 313 or 314 bus to Holmfirth (SE 144083). OS map:288.

Sat May 21st Yoredale Way (part 1), Kirkby Stephen to Garsdale.

13 mile linear walk following pack horse routes in the Eden Valley.
Ldr: Malcolm Dixon. Catch either the 07:44 XC or 07:58 TPE train from York to Leeds to connect with the 08:49 Northern Rail Carlisle service as far as Kirkby Stephen (NY762066) 10:40. Return to Garsdale Station in time for the 17:27 Northern service back to Leeds & York. OS map OL19.
This is the first of eight stages during which we shall walk the 101 mile Yoredale Way, devised by Ken Piggin, and that follows the River Ure from its source back to York.

Sat May 28th Yoredale Way (part 2) Garsdale to Hawes

9 mile linear walk.
Ldr: Malcolm Dixon Catch either the 07:44 XC or 07:58 TPE train from York to Leeds to connect with the 08:49 Northern Rail Carlisle service as far as Garsdale (SD789918) 10:25 start. 16:55 113 Bus back from Hawes for the 17:27 Northern train back to York. OS maps OL19 & OL30.

Sun June 5th Yoredale Way (part 3) Hawes to Aysgarth

10 mile linear section.
'B' party Leader: Malcolm Dixon. We shall catch a lift with the York Ramblers Coach. Pick-up points at Hospital Fields road, Memorial Gardens & Poppleton Road. Should start walking at c10:30. OS map OL30.

Sat Aug 20th Pannal Circular

10 mile circular walk.
Ldr: Doug Melbourne. Catch the 09:10 Northern Harrogate service as far as Pannal arr 09:55 start (SE307514 ) Return via the 14:55 from Pannal arriving back in York at 15:46. 297 OS Map.

Sat Sept 10th Yoredale Way (part 8) Aldwark to York

14 mile linear walk .
Ldr: Malcolm Dixon. Catch the 09:45 29 Stephensons bus from Exhibition Square in York to Aldwark Should start walking at 10:20 (SE466635) with a finish at the Maltings by 17:30.

Sat Sept 24th Beverley -Skidby Mill

11 mile circular walk.
Ldr: Malcolm Dixon Catch the 08:45 X46 EYMS bus from York Rail Stn to Beverley Bus Stn (TA033398) for a 09:50 start & to meet up with our friends from Howden & Goole Ramblers for a walk out to Skidby Windmill for a lunch time halt before we make our way back to Beverley. OS map 293.

Sat Nov 5th Crambeck to Hovingham

8.5 mile linear walk.
Ldr: Jean Turnbull. Catch the 09:12 843 Coastliner from York Rail Stn to Crambeck stop on the A64. (SE735673) OS 300. Return via 15:10 194 Stephenson's Bus from Hovingham to Malton for the 15:50. Coastliner back to York. (it's suggested you get a return ticket to Malton)

Sat Nov 19th York Millennium Way (part 1)

12 mile linear walk.
Ldr: Malcolm Dixon. Meet outside the York Museum Gates at 09:00. We shall follow the first half of the Millennium Way around York's strays and green spaces including Hob Moor, the Knavesmire, Fulford Ings, Walmgate Stray, Foss Islands and finishing via the trackbed of the Derwent Valley Railway (now a cycleway) at Bad Bargain Lane to catch the no 11 FirstBus back to York Centre.

Sat Dec 17th York Millennium Way (part 2)

12 mile linear walk.
Ldr: Malcolm Dixon Completing our circuit via Monk Stray, Bootham Stray, Clifton Ings and then Riverside Walk into York. Catch the 09:05 no11 FirstBus from York Rail Stn to start the walk at 09:25 in Bad Bargain Lane.
