East Yorkshire and Derwent Area Ramblers

walking to protect our local countryside

'On a damp morning, Neville Kirkpatrick led 34 members on a 10 mile walk across the North Yorkshire Moors. Starting at the Hole of Horcum the walk took a southerly route above the top of Newton Dale, with views below to the valley. A coffee stop at Skelton Tower was rewarded with the sight of a passing steam train. Onwards and upwards to Levisham for a lunch stop, before a spell of heavy rain to welcome us back onto the open moor. Towards the end of the walk blue skies appeared with a fine sunny end to a great walk'. Martin Hill
